TENSION
14 stitches and 21 rows 2 inches (5 cm) measured over garter stitch on No. 10 needles or size of needles to give correct tension.
IMPORTANT
It is essential to check your tension against the tension stated, on which this design is based, and obtain this tension before commencing the knitting, in order to produce a garment the size you require. Knit a small sample in garter stitch, measure the stitches and rows accurately. If you have less stitches and rows to 2 inches (5 cm), your knitting is too loose, try again using one size smaller needles. If you have more stitches and rows to 2 inches (15 cm) your knitting is too tight, try again using one size larger needles. The correct tension must be obtained regardless of the size of needles used.
