Bejewelled Ring Spell Bell

A golden ring begins your secret and heralds riches. When entering the spell, pass finger through ring as though wearing it and ring bell with a sprightly movement, using only that particular finger. The tinkle will waft through the eyelets in the top of the bell. If you have a precious ring that fits your Jupiter finger, (pointing finger, right hand) this will enlarge your command.

Jingle Bell on ring or fae bells

NOTES: Australian English terms used. UK treble/US double crochet

PATTERN:

Make two bell halves.

Row 1: Chain 6.

Row 2: 1 treble in 4th chain from hook. Chain two. 2 treble in last two chains. (2tr, 2ch, 2tr across row). Chain 3 for turning chain.

Row 3: 2 treble, 2 chains, 2 treble all into middle loop (of 2 chains) of previous row. Chain 3 for turning chain.

Row 4: 11 treble evenly across row (11 tr in all).

Rows 5 through to 10: Work 11 treble across row.

Row 11: Increase 1 treble at each end of row by working two trebles into one (13 tr in all).

FINISHING:

Seam sides together by small overcast stitch. Weave in all yarn ends. Wash in pure soap or soap nuts, rinsing three times. Stand a large, clean egg in egg cup. Dry bell over shape, pinching out lower edge to a gentle flute.

Turn bell inside out. Sew the jingle bell or fae bells to top centre. Turn right side out. Using gold embroidery thread, sew jewelled ring to top of bell.

Write a money spell, form into a scroll to fit under the bell. If a fresh Bay leaf is available, wrap this around the spell. Tie with royal blue silk. Place on altar or dressing table. When entering the spell, pass finger through ring as though wearing it and ring bell with a spritely movement, using only that particular finger. The tinkle will waft through the eyelets in the top of the bell. If you have a golden ring that fits your Jupiter finger, (pointing finger, right hand) this will enlarge your command.

It is worthwhile securing your own Bay leaf (Laurus nobilis—the noble, crowning laurel) supply. Small trees can be grown in large terracotta pots. Their enticing fragrance is the pleasure of Jupiter. Used in Ancient Greece for oracle divination by inhaling bay odours or chewing leaves and in Phyllomancy (leaf divination). The essence, when stroked across the forehead, imparts a lifting mind to those who dwell on Jupiter’s plane.
